Blues - Damon Stone & Ria DeBiase:
This class introduces students to techniques for dancing the Blues. When the music is just too slow to swing out, and too soulful to sit down, Blues provides an excellent way of expressing yourself dynamically on the dance floor utilizing connection, balance, posture and musicality. This class will improve your Blues dancing and add sophistication to your Lindy Hop.
The Big Apple - Catrine Ljunggren & Elliott Donnelley:
The Big Apple, a circle dance of traditional jazz steps done to swing music in response to a caller was very popular in the late 1930s, sweeping dance halls across the United States. In practice, in social dance settings, The Big Apple was never done the same way twice because it was called spontaneously by the caller in response to the music. This version of the big apple was choreographed by Frankie Manning and performed by Whitey's Lindy Hoppers in the 1938 movie Keep Punchin'.
Hip Hop - Eric Fenn:
This class will be taught by one of the top Hip Hop instructors out there today. Eric Fenn, has taught and choreographed all over the world and over the bast four years has developed a specialty for working with Lindy Hoppers who have little or no knowledge of hip hop. In this class Eric will teach the fundamentals of hip hop movement including waves, body rolls, hits, locking and how to work from your center. Eric will also lead a series of across the floor exercises designed to teach new forms of footwork and dynamic movement that students will be able to apply to their lindy hop and social dancing.
